The Destination! - Why In Our Strength (Poem)

Why In Our Strength (Poem) by Lisa Beth Jenkins

Why do you try to do everything in your own strength?
Do you not grow weary and tired, do you not falter under
the heavy load, aren't you ready to just come to the end
of yourself, and let me carry, what you were never meant
to carry?

Do you feel as if your control will move you up any further?
Do you feel that only you can do the things that will produce
results for your life? I say to you, who made you? who gave you
all of your desires? who knows all about you? who planned your days?

Only I can equip you for the things that you need, only I can carry
that burden, only I can bring satisfaction and contentment to your life
Why do you struggle, have not I performed great things and brought you
to where you are today?

Trust Me I say trust Me and rest in Me, and seek My Face, lean not unto
your own understanding but in all your ways acknowledge Me and I shall
direct your paths, for the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord.
It is not by might nor by power, but by my spirit saith the Lord thy God.
