Happy New Year … again!
I thought I’d switch-up this month’s Jewish Roots
column with a list of great movies that depict—fairly accurately—the Jewish culture.
As a child from a small town in Missouri, movies were a treat, once I entered the cinema I knew I would be taken to exotic locales to meet people I didn’t know existed. I loved being lost in a fantasy world with a box of unbuttered popcorn and an orange soda.
Last night in church, we watched a video showing the poverty, the hurting, the lost, etc. in this world. Those that live in the United States could make such a difference in this world if we would just step up and do something!! I think many times we are so overwhelmed with all that is going on in the world
This time of the Year has an important meaning to all people on earth, it is change. Every New Year gives us a feeling of renewal within: and this feeling brings the action of choice to change something in our lives.
On New Year’s Eve most people make themselves a promise to change something in their lives that will benefit them.
I came to Christ when I was about 15-16 years old. When I was going through a tough time with my family, because my dad is a recovering prescription drug addict. I thought the world hated me for a while, but once I thought things through and I would go to youth group.
