Washing Feet~ John 13:1-17         by Debby

John 13:17- I have set you example that you should do as I have done for you....What comes to mind when you hear the word FEET? To me hmmm smelly? dirty? Sore ? Tired? Wonder what Jesus disciples thought. But Jesus looked past the physical. He humbled Himself by taking a wash basin & towel & washing their feet. Simon Peter protested Jesus actions. He knew that his feet were pretty darn dusty, discolored, & stinky from the open sandals he walked in!!! wow~ But Jesus humbled himself & became a servant...... If God of the universe can serve people of lower rank than himself, how much more should WE be willing to serve those around us????  Never mind the fact that you might have a better job than your neighbor, or a more expensive car, or if you think you have stronger morals{1 Corinthian chapter 10}Humble your selves & show ourselves to others Jesus` love! Its not about us, Its all about Him...Help that struggling mom, Help your neighbor the elderly, I t may feel a little uncomfortable at first, but go ahead!!! Humble your self as Jesus did and you will be blessed!!! In a race every one runs but only one person gets first prize, and I’m a girl {a woman] So are you guys gonna let a woman beat yah!!! So run your race to win, To win the contest you must deny your self many things that would keep you from doing your best!!! An athlete goes to all this trouble just to win a blue ribbon { a wreath that soon fades]or a silver cup. but we do it for a heavenly reward that never disappears. So I run straight to the goal with purpose in every step. I fight to win!!! I’m not just shadow boxing or playing around. Like an athlete I punish my body, training it to do what it should not what it wants to. Otherwise I fear that after enlisting others for the race, I myself might be declared unfit & order to stand still~ Lord I m so happy to be where I am in this race. Thank you for even choosing me, I’m sad yes because of so much pain & heartache. So much suffering .But I know you are I complete control... No circumstance is to great that you are not greater still!!!! Amen
