God's Love Poem to Me by Kristie Ledford
How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! 1 John 3:1 NIV
Kristie, I love you with unfailing love, which can only come down from my throne above.
I saw your face before placing you in your mother’s womb; I knew your name for there was no reason to assume.
I have been with you in the darkest of gloom, watching my godly woman grow and bloom.
Kristie, I will never beat, leave or cheat, for I believe you are magnificent.
I created you just for me, regardless of what others see.
My dear daughter I have made for you a gorgeous crown, you shall be wearing up here in Heaven’s town!
So, remember my love Kristie everyday, knowing you will my precious daughter because I hear you pray.
I send to you my unfailing love, sealed with a kiss from your God, your Creator and Father above.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. Psalm 139:15-16 NIV
And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away. 1 Peter 5:4 NIV
Okay, now that you have read the poem I would like for you to read the poem again, only this time, replace my name with yours. Yes, God loves us more than we can even imagine. His love is unconditional and not based upon performance or non-performance. God’s love for us never changes ~ James 1:17-18 NIV. Since my conversion on March 01, 2001, at age 29 God has been overwhelming me with His love. When I received Jesus as my Savior, the enormous weights of my sins were forgiven and the chains of bondage were broken from around my heart. Well, something else very radical began to happen……my heart began to receive real love, I began to feel God‘s love within me. As a result, I began to love Him back and I wanted to love other people. Through God’s word and prayer He began teaching me exactly what true love was all about.
You see, for years prior to my conversion I had been physically, mentally, and emotionally abused. The persons who inflicted this abuse upon me were also the same people who told me, “I love you.” So, from my perception love was very painful. I had been treated as an object or possession and did not even feel capable of being loved. Jesus Christ has destroyed all those lies through His extraordinary love and truth. Does this mean my life has been free from trials or persecutions? No, not at all! Actually, after my conversion, I lost everything………..my material possessions and some family members turned away from me. I have been through many severe trials and testing of my faith but, guess what? During each trial of suffering God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit have been with me. They have never stopped loving me. They have never turned their back on me. The Triune God has loved me regardless of my situation or circumstance. I just want you to know that God loves you and He desires to fill you with His love. Let Go…………………..and feel the overflow of God’s love…………………….let go……………………….. and tell someone else so they too will know……………………God loves me!
