All For You (Poem) by Marcelene Murdock
All For You
The Sweat
The Tears
The Prayers
Night and Day
Upon Mountain Top
His sweat poured
His tears fell
As He prayed for You
As He walked among men
Teaching them
Guiding them
Healing them
Loving them
Did it matter then
Does it matter now
Suddenly as quick as He came
He was gone
His life given away willingly
All for You
They came
They bound Him
They beat Him brutally
They crowned Him
They whipped Him
And He bled
For You
With torn skin
Swollen eyes and lip
Still He prayed
Still He cried
And His sweat that day
Was His blood
And He Bled
For You
Did it matter then
Doesn't it matter now
And we gripe
And we grudge
We criticize and judge
And do those things we ought not to do
Thinking within
The blood cleansed us from all sin
Where is our righteousness
Where is our Holiness
Where is our perfection
We willingly sin knowing within
It does matter
Those things we do
Yet we continue to remain in them
Wallowing in our sin struggling within
To be set free
When our freedom lies
With the one who died
For Us
His sweat
His tears
His prayers
His blood flowing freely
For You
Does it matter
When will we arise Above sin
When will we take our place and be the ambassadors
We ought to be
When will we leave sin
At the foot of His cross
And Follow Him
Into His resurrection power
And be who we are called to be
For His testimony sake
For His name sake
For His sake
For His Glory
For what he has done
Was for your sake
Was for your life
And yet even as Christians
We wallow in sin
And His tears still flow
At the alter
And His wounds still bleed
At the alter
As He still defends
YOU
And all He has done
And All He still does
Is all done For YOU
