The Destination! - Talking With God (Poem)

Talking With God (Poem) by Laura C. Romesburg

  Hello, Lord; are You listening?

Can You hear my heart beating?
Do You know what I’m thinking?
I know You know I’m alive.

But still, Lord, I’m feeling so lonely
                        And I’m feeling deserted
by the ones who I’ve trusted,
so all I do now is cry.

                        Reach for Me, child,
stretch out your hand to Me
                        Close your eyes,
                        Just listen to My voice.
                        Please know that I,
                        that I have always been
                        right beside
                                 you.

Holy One, I know You see me
struggling in this cold, cold world.
Must I do this all alone?
Lord, please help me with my load.

All around I see Your children die,
                        starving in a war-torn world;
just watch the dust clouds swirl
                        over their valley of death.

                        Close your eyes, child
                        and listen to My voice.
                        Its time now,
                        to bring My children home.
                        Are you ready?
                        For when My trumpets sound?
                        Sounding for
                                   you...
