Haleigh Plea (Poem) by Bob Pruitt
Who are we to decide,
Who should live, who should die?
God gives life and we should try
To keep them all alive.
A little girl, thrown down the stairs.
Abused and beaten, no one to care.
The doctors say "The brain is dead;
She'll never live, she's unaware."
A little girl so close to death.
Without machines, there is no breath.
The law says "NO, just turn them off."
And yet she lives, cause God has blessed.
Who are we to decide,
Who should live; who should die?
God gives life and we should try
To keep them all alive.
A little girl, so all alone.
Shows that God's still on His throne.
The judege says "die, it's by the law."
But God has plans; to us unknown.
Whether baby in the womb, or child of only ten.
Who are we to say when their life should end?
God has plans we can't foretell;
Against which we can't contend.
Who are we to decide.
Who should live; who should die?
God gives life and we should try
To keep them all alive.
This is dedicated to Haleigh Poultre.
